You may wonder why I sign my e-mails and blog posts with "S.D.G." on the end.
The letters stand for the Latin phrase "Soli Deo Gloria." This translates as “Glory to God alone.”
Lest you think I am a bit odd (and I'll not try to correct you), other oddballs like Johann Sebastian Bach and George Frideric Handel also signed their compositions with the initials S.D.G.
This really is my personal reminder to tamp down my own pride, which has proven to be a painful, toxic thing. My fleeting manifestations of talent are a gift. Sure, I can polish it a little, but I did not manufacture it.
I have a compellingly strong vibe that "good" and "bad" are real things. And, a little humility might be a way to add a tiny drop of "good" to the bucket.
So, now you know. Inquisitive, aren't you?
